How Do You Market Your Business at GITEX Global 2026?

How Do You Market Your Business at GITEX Global 2026?

Your GITEX marketing starts on 14 September, not 7 December. GITEX Global 2026 runs from 7 to 11 December at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, and the exhibitors who get real business out of it begin their content and outreach roughly 12 weeks before the doors open. The stand is the expensive bit. The marketing around it is the bit that decides whether the stand was worth it. Here is the runway that actually works, with the dates.

What is different about GITEX Global 2026

Three things have changed, and all three affect your calendar.

  • New venue. After 45 years at Dubai World Trade Centre, the 46th edition moves to the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai. Your audience does not know where you are. Directions, hall numbers and stand numbers now belong in your content, not just on your badge.
  • New dates. 7 to 11 December, with 7 December given over to the GITEX Scale Summit and the main exhibition running 8 to 11 December. Previous editions sat in October, so the entire build-up has shifted by about seven weeks.
  • Bigger and busier. Organisers expect 6,800 exhibiting companies, 400 plus government entities and more than 200,000 attendees from over 180 countries. You are one of nearly seven thousand reasons for someone to walk past you.

The December move also drops GITEX into Dubai's peak tourism season, straight after White Friday on 28 November and on top of Eid Al Etihad. Hotels, contractors and logistics all carry a premium, and your customers' attention is already being fought over. That is exactly why the pre-show work matters more this year than it did in October editions.

The 12-week runway, with dates

Research on B2B exhibitors is blunt about this: 55% of teams start their outreach less than four weeks before a show, and the teams that win start 8 to 12 weeks out. Counting back from 7 December, here is what that looks like in 2026.

  • 14 September to 11 October. Announce it. Stand number, hall, what you are demonstrating and why anyone should care. Update your LinkedIn banner, Instagram bio link, email signature and website with a GITEX block.
  • 12 October to 8 November. Make the content. One properly planned shoot day produces the founder-to-camera clip, the product demo, the team introduction, the stand reveal and 20 or so graphics. Doing this in November costs more and looks rushed.
  • 9 November to 6 December. Outreach and meeting booking. Personal invites, not broadcast posts. This is where the pipeline is actually built.
  • 7 to 11 December. Live coverage from the floor, every day, published the same day.
  • 12 to 13 December. Follow up. All of it. Within 48 hours.

What to post before the show

Pre-show content has one job: to make a specific person decide to walk to your stand. Broad brand posts do not do that. What does:

  • A short founder video saying what you are launching or demonstrating at GITEX, in plain language.
  • A "find us" graphic with hall, stand number and a simple map crop, reposted weekly through November.
  • Behind the scenes of the build, the shoot and the team prep. This is the cheapest content you will ever make and it performs.
  • A booking link for stand meetings, pinned to your LinkedIn profile and your company page.
  • Personal LinkedIn messages from the founder and the sales team. Not a mailshot.

One thing worth saying about LinkedIn: at a B2B show, your founder's personal profile will out-reach your company page every time. Post from both, but lead with the person.

What to actually do during the five days

Assign one person to content and do not let them get pulled onto the stand. If everyone is selling, nobody is filming, and you finish the week with a phone full of nothing. A workable daily rhythm is one Reel or Short, three to five stories, and one LinkedIn post per day, published the same day rather than saved for a recap.

Film the demo actually working, not the empty stand at 8am. Grab 15-second reactions from customers who visited. Tag Expo City Dubai and GITEX in every post so you appear in the event's search results, which stay active for weeks afterwards. In-person booth conversations generate four to five times more qualified leads than virtual equivalents, so the content should exist to drive people into those conversations, not replace them.

The 48-hour window that decides your return

This is the part almost everyone gets wrong. Reply rates from event leads run at about 25% when you follow up within 24 hours and fall to under 8% after 72 hours. Only around 20% of exhibitors manage to follow up within 48 hours. That gap is the whole game.

Have the follow-up sequence written, designed and loaded before you fly to the venue. Personalised email, LinkedIn connection with a one-line reminder of what you talked about, and a piece of content that proves you were there. Book the 12th and 13th of December out in your calendar now.

What it costs, and where content fits

For a professional presence at GITEX 2026, budget from around AED 2,500 per square metre, and expect Expo City builds to land roughly 10 to 20% above the equivalent DWTC spend because of the venue's logistics and the peak-season labour premium. Visitor passes run from about AED 630 for a standard pass up to AED 3,500 to 10,000 for VIP tiers.

So a modest stand is already a five-figure commitment before anyone flies in. If you are spending that and then filming the week on a phone with no plan, the maths does not work. For most UAE exhibitors, a sensible content budget sits at 10 to 15% of the total stand spend, and it is the line item with the longest tail, because the footage keeps working through January. The mistake most Dubai exhibitors make

They treat GITEX as five days. It is not. It is twelve weeks of building an audience, five days of harvesting it and two days of converting it. Trade shows influence 40 to 50% of annual pipeline for many B2B companies, which makes GITEX the single largest marketing moment in the UAE calendar for a technology business. Give it the runway it deserves, and start in September.

Key takeaways

  • GITEX Global 2026 runs 7 to 11 December at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, its first year away from Dubai World Trade Centre in 45 years.
  • Start your marketing runway on 14 September, 12 weeks out. 55% of exhibitors start under four weeks out and it shows.
  • Expect 6,800 exhibitors and 200,000 plus visitors, so pre-booked stand meetings beat hoping for footfall.
  • Follow up within 48 hours. Reply rates fall from about 25% to under 8% after 72 hours.
  • Budget from AED 2,500 per sqm for the stand, and put 10 to 15% of that figure into content.

Frequently asked questions

When is GITEX Global 2026 and where is it held?

GITEX Global 2026 runs from 7 to 11 December 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. The 7th is the GITEX Scale Summit and the main exhibition runs 8 to 11 December. It is the first edition held away from Dubai World Trade Centre in 45 years.

How far in advance should I start marketing my GITEX stand?

Twelve weeks, which for the 2026 edition means starting around 14 September. Most exhibitors begin under four weeks out, which is too late to build an invite list, produce content and book meetings properly.

How much does it cost to exhibit at GITEX 2026?

Budget from around AED 2,500 per square metre for a professional stand, with Expo City builds expected to run 10 to 20% higher than the equivalent at Dubai World Trade Centre. Add contractor, logistics and accommodation premiums for December's peak season.

What should I post on social media during GITEX?

Publish daily and publish same-day: one Reel or Short, three to five stories and one LinkedIn post per day. Film the demo working and short customer reactions, tag GITEX and Expo City Dubai, and have one person dedicated to content who is not also selling on the stand.

How quickly should I follow up with GITEX leads?

Within 48 hours, and ideally within 24. Reply rates sit near 25% inside the first day and drop below 8% after 72 hours, yet only about one exhibitor in five follows up that fast.
